Sub: Bonnet - underside-rusting complaint on TRAX vehicles.
Stray cases of bonnet- underside rusting complaints on vehicles operating; especially in the coastal areas have been reported to us.
As a means of extreme precaution, with immediate effect the use of NVH Foam, which was resulting in retention of water, has been discontinued and instead a Sound Deadener Paint application on Bonnet- underside is implemented , on a regular basis in production from chassis No T57014441-H03.
Therefore on the vehicles on which you have already reported the problem of rusting on the underside of the bonnet, the above reffered modification should be carried out at the earliest.
Please follow the below given procedure-
1 Remove Bonnet Assembly from vehicle.
2 Remove the NVH Foam pasted on Bonnet Panel underside. Ensure that no scratch marks are formed during removal .
3 Thoroughly clean the Panel with soft detergent & clean potable water & allow to dry thoroughly. If required clean with Thinner, the foam adhesive.
