To : All Service Engineers.
Sub : Roof crack on Metal - top TRAX vehicles.
Stray complaints of Metal – top roof cracking have been reported to us. During thorough investigations, it is noticed that improper fitment of roof carrier, causing load transfer to roof has resulted in consequential damages to the roof. Also as our Plant people have informed after field visit that in some cases the possibility of people having stepped on the roof while loading-up the carrier, cannot be ruled out.
We are herewith enclosing a drawing showing correct anchoring locations and proper gaps to be maintained during fitment of roof carrier. The roof carrier needs to be fabricated accordingly.
All are requested to circulate to and educate all dealer’s staff on the correct fitment of roof carrier as per enclosed sketch, since roof carrier is an important accessory for passenger carrier vehicles.
In future, in case of roof crack complaints, please send photographs and sketches to show the dimensions of the carrier and mounting location gaps with roof location etc. of the carrier.
This will enable us to settle and report to all the concerned the complaint in a proper manner.
In the meanwhile, please note that roofs damaged due to extraneous reasons as above, cannot be considered under warranty.
