SUB- TRAX  HUB BEARING

Based on our request M/s NBC Bearing has conducted joint investigation along with our         Service Engineers on Trax Hub bearing failure in field at selective locations. Based on their analysis report we would like to draw your attention to the following points which must be adhered to by the Dealer’s technician, to ensure that the component give long life.

1) It was observed that the quality of grease used during hub- greasing at some of the dealerships was not as per our recommendations. Please ensure that, correct recommended grade of grease is used during hub greasing.(As mentioned in our owner’s manual.) Care should be taken to ensure that the different make of  greases used are compatible & are having  the same base oil. Also it should be ensured that the grease is free from contamination, dirt, grit.

2) In case of hub bearings are opened for regreasing or for any other work they should be washed with kerosene/ diesel. The bearings or other parts of hub should never be washed with water. This may lead to the rusting of the component, during service.

3) The collapsible bush(code no:A000023020493) should be necessarily replaced during every hub greasing or when the hub assembly is used for any other work.

4) During tightening of lock nut after greasing, knuckle is to be rotated continuously as this will help in bearing races  & rollers to take correct position.

5) The hub bearing play should be accurately set to a value of  0.04      to  0.06mm , using a good condition dial gauge & stand.

Please ensure that your mechanics are made properly aware of this procedure & they follow it meticulous.
